Capital Markets and Korea’s Economic Growth: A Marketplace for the Creative Economy Bull’s Hall, 3F, KOFIA Building
Drastic changes in Korea’s internal and external environment surrounding the economy are now requiring a critical, qualitative shift in Korea’s capital markets. Capital markets have a fundamental call as a financing source for innovative companies as well as a marketplace providing investment opportunities. One of the most crucial functions is pricing through which information asymmetry is eased, investors and issuers are matched, innovative companies can grow, and financial investments can yield proper returns. Such a virtuous cycle is a pre-requisite condition to Korea’s economic growth and consumer protection in the financial markets.
The Korean Securities Association and Korea Capital Market Institute co-organize this policy symposium to bring in experts for in-depth discussion about possible improvements on three markets (IPOs, bonds, and pensions) that have been and will be the backbone for Korea’s capital markets.
