Innovative Finance, Cross-border Transaction and Regulatory Harmoney International Conference Hall 2F, Korean Federation of Banks Bldg.
  • Time 15:00~18:00
These days innovation is becoming more important as a key driver of economic growth. Innovative startups take the lead in innovation, but professional investors can be also regarded as a main engine of innovative growth in that they provide entrepreneurial capital to startup firms. Because of severe information asymmetries inherent in the industry, innovative firms are unable to grow unless professional investors, such as accelerators, angels and venture capitalists actively generate information and take risk. Also, finance is itself an icon of innovation. Recently emerged robo advisors are a good example of how innovation provides tools for investors to efficiently manage their assets, and how it becomes a building block for the growth of financial firms.
Meantime, innovations in information technology and financial transactions facilitate cross-border transactions, which, in turn, drive economic growth. Singapore and Hong Kong, the world-class financial hubs, are a case in point. Singapore and Hong Kong lowered entry barriers and relaxed regulations, and aggressively attracted foreign capital flows. As a result, the financial sector became the backbone of their economies. All the more important, however, are regulatory flexibility and harmony to foster innovative finance and stimulate cross-border financial transactions.
Against this backdrop, Korea Capital Market Institute and Kim & Chang will co-host a seminar titled “Innovative Finance, Cross-border Transaction and Regulatory Harmony”. This seminar will bring together private sector experts as well as policy-makers and practitioners to seek ways to build innovative finance mechanisms and facilitate cross-border transactions. We kindly request your participation in this seminar.
