Plans to Shape a Gender Friendly Financial Ecosystem Bull’s Hall, 3F, KOFIA Building
  • Time 13:30~18:00
The Korean Women Economics Association and Korea Capital Market will host the spring symposium for 2013 under the theme “Creating the Ecosystem for Gender Friendly Finance”.
Too often, female entrepreneurs are disadvantaged in business creation compared to male entrepreneurs with similar conditions because of the following reasons. First, government support for business creation is based on hard technologies such as mechanics or electronics. Industries such as fashion and animation where female entrepreneurs have strength are often excluded from credit guarantees or start-up financing. Second, the number of female workers is too small in the financial industry, which leads to a possible disadvantage in “relationship finance”.
In order to develop female entrepreneurs’ creativity and soft power into value-added industries, it is necessary to establish a gender friendly ecosystem, and provide policy support. This symposium will be a first step towards the goal. We look forward your active participation.
